    About this recipe: A soft cream for sponge cakes and top of fairy cakes. If you want chocolate flavoured buttercream, add one tablespoon of cocoa powder.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 75g butter
    • 175g icing sugar, sieved
    • 1 tablespoon milk

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Ready in:5min 

    1. In a bowl, whisk the butter until soft and fluffy.
    2. Add half of the sieved icing sugar, beat until mixed.
    3. Add the remaining sugar and milk and mix until smooth.

    I love this! Very tasty and easy, and not too sweet, I added just a little vanilla, half a teaspoon, but it works very well without it, I just love to add a lil' vanilla to stuff! - 12 Nov 2012

    Just made this tonight to put between my cake, it was delish, just glad no-one was in to lick the spoon, got it all to myself, will definitely be making this again - 21 Nov 2013
