Cajun Spice Seasoning

Cajun Spice Seasoning

8 people made this

About this recipe: This is a spicy, warm and fragrant seasoning mix. It's quick and easy to make and tastes fantastic. The beauty of making your own seasoning mix is that you can control what goes into it, including salt. This Cajun spice is a lot less salty than the store-bought variety. Use this mix in anything that calls for Cajun seasoning, such as fajitas or chilli con carne.

Makes: 90 grams

  • 6 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 4 teaspoons dried minced garlic, such as Schwartz
  • 4 teaspoons crushed chillies
  • 2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander

Easy to halve or quarter amounts for smaller needs! Used as a fab coating for diced pork: grilled on skewers with red onion quarters, pieces of red, green or yellow peppers - 18 Mar 2012

Made up the mix for a jambalaya. Beautiful combination gave a great nice heat, added some onion salt, so omitted the 4tsp of salt. Thank You - 06 Jun 2015
