    About this recipe: This clam soup is one of the best. It's made by baking together sauteed onions with tinned soups and single cream. Serve with freshly baked bread, if desired.

    Makes: 8 - 10 servings

    • 110g unsalted butter
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 4 (400g) tins clam chowder
    • 3 (280g) tins baby clams, drained
    • 2 (295g) tins condensed cream of mushroom soup
    • 2 (295g) tins condensed cream of celery soup
    • 1 (295g) tin condensed cream of chicken soup
    • 2 litres single cream

    1. Preheat oven to 110 C / Gas 1/4.
    2. Saute the onion in the butter until translucent, about 5 minutes. Combine the sauteed onions, clam chowder, clams, soups and single cream into a roasting tin and bake for four hours.
