No. 1 soft chocolate chip cookies

    Lovely, tasty cookies that go down as soon as they're cooled. My brother loves them. If you want flat cookies, flatten them to about 1cm thick.

    Makes: 16 cookies

    • 350g butter
    • 250g caster sugar
    • 450g self-raising flour
    • 250g chocolate chips

    Prep:25min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:5min cooling  ›  Ready in:45min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Cream the butter and caster sugar using an electric whisk. Fold in the flour. Stir in the chocolate chips.
    3. Roll dough into small balls and flatten slightly. Place on a baking tray.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
    5. Take out carefully and leave to harden.


    Don't let cookies go completely brown.
