About this recipe: This is a fantastic way to cook fresh prawns. They are simply boiled and served alongside chilli bean sauce. Serve as a starter or main course.


Serves: 3 - 4

  • 500g fresh, raw, shell-on prawns, rinsed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • chilli bean sauce to taste

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:10min 

  1. Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Add the salt and prawns and bring back to the boil.
  2. When the prawns turn pink, drain and serve alongside the chilli bean sauce.


Chilli bean sauce can be purchased in Chinese/Oriental speciality shops or online.
