    About this recipe: This baked chicken dish is very easy and very good! The pan juices are superb spooned over rice, mash or boiled potatoes. You can add some fresh herbs to taste, such as rosemary, thyme or parsley.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 whole chicken
    • 250ml creme fraiche
    • 1 tablespoon white wine
    • 2 large onions, finely chopped
    • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Place the chicken in a baking dish with a lid.
    2. in a large bowl, mix together the creme fraiche, onions, white wine, salt and pepper. Pour over the chicken.
    3. Bake the chicken for an hour with the lid on the baking dish.


    You could easily prepare this dish by using boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs instead of a whole chicken. Simply adjust baking time as necessary.
