About this recipe:An easy dish you can prepare in advance - simply refrigerate and then bake. Serve for a family dinner with your children or friends. It is not a sophisticated nor a healthy dish but it is unusual and the children will love it!
For the pancakes
250g plain flour
a good pinch of salt
For the filing
1 tablespoon of oil
1 small onion, chopped
300g minced beef
1 jar tomato pasta sauce, or pizza sauce
3-4 thick slices of ham, chopped
1/2 a pepper, finely diced
350g grated Gruyère cheese

For the batter: combine flour and salt and mix with the eggs. Gradually add milk and whisk until smooth. Cook each pancake in a buttered frying pan over medium high heat for 2 minutes, then flip over for 1 minute. Set the pancakes aside.
Cook the onion in the oil over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the mince and cook till evenly browned. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 6.
Assemble the pancakes: Top each pancake with some pasta sauce and place some ham in each. Sprinkle with diced pepper. Roll up each pancake and place in a buttered baking dish. Once all pancakes are in the dish, sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake in the oven for 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
