Chocolate, almond and pear tart

    Here is a perfect dessert if you have any unexpected guests. This tart can be prepared in a flash, and it is a very tempting and delicious dessert. Serve with creme fraiche or whipped cream, or simply on its own.

    Serves: 6 

    • 110g butter, softened
    • 130g ground almonds
    • 125g caster sugar
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 puff pastry sheet
    • 120g cooking chocolate
    • 4 ripe pears, peeled and halved

    1. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with the almonds and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, mix well after each addition.
    2. Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5. Line a buttered tart tin with the puff pastry.
    3. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and coat the puff pastry sheet. Top with the almond mixture and add the pears.
    4. Bake for 30 minutes.
