About this recipe: I make this soup in a pressure cooker, it is so fast it seems silly to prepare it any other way. You can simmer the soup for an hour or so if you don't have a pressure cooker. You'll love this unique, flavourful soup anyway you make it!


Serves: 6 

  • 500g veal, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 (400g) tin chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 300g lentils, sorted and rinsed
  • 2 onions, minced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 650g tomatoes, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 50g fresh parsley, chopped
  • 50g fresh coriander, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:50min 

  1. Add all ingredients into a pressure cooker. Mix well.
  2. Pour 1.5 litres of water over the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Put the lid on the pressure cooker and seal. Cook for 35 minutes after it starts whistling. Release pressure using the quick release method.
