Pasta in a spicy tomato sauce

    Serves: 2 

    • 1 onion, diced
    • 1 clove garlic, crushed
    • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
    • 1 carrot, grated
    • 1 tsp smoked paprika
    • 1 tsp chilli powder
    • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
    • 1 tbsp tomato puree
    • basil
    • oregano
    • olive oil
    • salt and pepper
    • 225g spaghetti

    1. Fry the onions and garlic in a bit of oil until soft on a medium heat. Add the grated carrot.
    2. Boil the pasta in some salted boiling water on a high heat.
    3. Add tinned tomatoes to the onion mixture, and stir. Add tomato puree, ketchup, paprika, chilli powder, basil, oregano and seasoning. Leave to simmer for another 5 minutes.
    4. Drain the pasta and serve with the tomato sauce!

    Serving suggestion

    Serve with Turkish meatballs if you are craving something different.
