About this recipe: A great recipe to make with the kids. Sausages are rolled in a mustard seasoned puff pastry, then sprinkled with Gruyere, before being sliced and baked to perfection. They are ideal for party nibbles.


Serves: 12 

  • 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 1 tablespoon grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 6 pork sausages

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Grease or line a baking tray with baking parchment.
  2. Lay out the pastry on a flat surface. Cut out into 6 equal pieces. Roll out a little, if necessary, to create a piece that is large enough to wrap one sausage.
  3. Spread mustard onto each pastry piece and roll around one sausage. Seal and gently press with a fork. Repeat.
  4. Cut the sausage rolls into 1-2cm thick pieces. Place onto prepared tray. Sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the pastry is puffy and golden.
  6. Leave to cool for a little while before serving.
