Sweet Egg Flan


    This French dessert is very similar to a baked custard, but with more substance. It's rich, creamy and delicious. Serve with a dusting of icing sugar, fresh berries or as is.

    Serves: 6 

    • 100g caster sugar
    • 100g plain flour
    • 4 eggs
    • 40g butter, melted
    • 500ml milk

    1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Butter a baking dish.
    2. In a bowl, mix together eggs and sugar. Add the flour and melted butter and mix. Gradually stir in the cold milk to fully incorporate.
    3. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 45 minutes.
