Bolognese sauce with sherry and fresh herbs
This is a very tasty Bolognese sauce that I created to serve with pasta. You can also use this sauce for lasagne.
4 people made this
1 tablespoon olive oil
400g beef steak mince
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 handful fresh parsley, chopped
1 handful fresh coriander, chopped
3 sprigs thyme
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon paprika
3/4 mug cream sherry
tin chopped tomatoes
1 tablespoon caster sugar
300ml (1/2 pint) water
- Put olive oil in a pan and add mince, garlic and onions, salt and pepper and gently fry until mince is browned.
- Add in fresh chopped herbs, spices and sherry and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add in tin of chopped tomatoes, sugar and water and mix well and then simmer for around 35 minutes.
- Serve with pasta and garlic bread.
