    About this recipe: A lovely winter warmer dish. One of my personal favourites. Serve with mashed potatoes and seasonal veg, or a salad.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1 large onion, chopped
    • 8 mushrooms, chopped (optional)
    • 6 slices bacon (smoked or unsmoked)
    • 500g lambs' liver
    • salt and pepper
    • gravy granules

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:1hr  ›  Ready in:1hr10min 

    1. Fry the onion, mushrooms and bacon over a medium heat until brown.
    2. Add the liver, salt and pepper, and a pint of water.
    3. Turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
    4. Add gravy granules to desired thickness.
    5. Simmer for 30 to 40 minutes (Alternatively put into a casserole dish, cover with foil and bake in the oven at 180 C / Gas 4 for 30 to 40 minutes).
