Baked Apples with Raisins and Walnuts

About this recipe: This is the perfect low-fat dessert for the cold autumn or winter months. Apples are baked with walnuts and raisins, then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.


Serves: 4 

  • 4 apples
  • 60g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  • cinnamon sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
  2. Mix butter, raisins and walnuts together.
  3. Core apples with an apple corer. Stuff each apple with the raisin mixture.
  4. Place apples in a small baking dish/tin.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for about 45-55 minutes until they feel soft. Still warm, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Cinnamon sugar

Can be purchased at major supermarkets or you can make your own. Simply mix sugar with ground cinnamon using a 4:1 ratio.
