Chocolate Biscuits with Nutella

    These deliciously rich biscuits are easy to make and oh-so-moreish. Buttery chocolate and walnut biscuits are sandwiched together with Nutella.

    Makes: 70 biscuits, depending on size

    • 250g plain flour
    • 250g caster sugar
    • 250g walnuts, chopped
    • 200g chocolate, grated
    • 2 eggs
    • 250g butter, diced
    • Filling
    • Nutella
    • Glaze
    • 100g icing sugar

    1. Mix flour with sugar, walnuts and chocolate. Form a hollow in the middle and crack the eggs into it. Add butter and knead the dough quickly. Place in a container with lid and chill for 2 hours.
    2. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    3. Roll dough out and cut into crescents. Transfer to a baking tray lined with baking parchment.
    4. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Allow to cool.
    5. Stick two moons together with Nutella.
    6. For the glaze, mix icing sugar with a little cold water until smooth. Spread over biscuits.

    Nice biscuits but no way could you make any shapes with the batter as it was really sloppy. So I just plonked them onto baking tray and they spread. Hubby loved them but they were too thin around the edges for my liking and didn't really taste of choc.  -  04 Feb 2013
