    These biscuits are not only pretty to look at, but they are also delicious. Enjoy these Christmas treats anytime of the year. They go well with hot chocolate, tea or coffee.

    Serves: 80 

    • Plain Dough
    • 250g plain flour
    • 100g caster sugar
    • 125g soft butter or margarine
    • 1 egg
    • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
    • Chocolate Dough
    • 250g plain flour
    • 125g caster sugar
    • 125g soft butter or margarine
    • 20g unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 tablespoon milk
    • 1 egg
    • 1 egg white
    • icing sugar for dusting

    Prep:30min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:50min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
    2. Knead the plain and chocolate dough ingredients separately. Roll out on a lightly floured surface about 2mm thick and cut out stars in three different sizes.
    3. Spread egg white over the two bigger star shapes and stack the stars plain-chocolate-plain and vice-versa.
    4. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Allow to cool. Dust with icing sugar.
