Very easy baked cod

    Okay, this is probably the easiest dish, very simple but tasty. You can also use coley or pouting, less expensive than cod.

    • 450g (1lb) cod
    • 100g plain flour
    • 200g melted real butter
    • fresh dill
    • paprika
    • salt and pepper

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
    2. Remove the skin on the cod and cut in 2. Cover the cod in the flour then dip in the melted butter. Make sure to cover all the cod. Place the cod in an ovenproof dish.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven until fish flakes easily with a fork, 12 to 15 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh dill, paprika, salt and pepper.
    4. I usually have this with boiled baby potatoes tossed in butter and fresh basil.

    Alternatives to cod:

    Try this recipe with inexpensive fresh coley or pouting. They both belong to the cod family but are much cheaper and available in larger supermarkets or fishmongers.
