Sweet 'n' Spicy BBQ Sauce
A quick and easy recipe for a classic barbecue sauce. It's great to marinade meat and fish for summer barbecues. You can also use it as a dipping sauce for chicken wings.
Ingredients
Serves: 32
- 325g dark brown soft sugar
- 375g tomato ketchup
- 125ml red wine vinegar
- 125ml water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 1/2 tablespoons mustard powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 dashes hot pepper sauce

- In a liquidiser, combine dark brown soft sugar, ketchup, vinegar, water and Worcestershire sauce. Season with mustard, paprika, salt, pepper and hot pepper sauce. Blend until smooth.

Boil the ingredients. The instructions don't say anything about cooking the sauce, but it is much, much better after its been cooked. As is, it was very gel-like, but cooked, you get a very flavorful sauce. - 21 Feb 2007 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
