340g macaroni pasta
30g butter, melted
275g grated Cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Lightly grease a 2-litre baking dish.
In a large pot of salted water, lightly boil the macaroni for about 5 minutes until half-cooked.
Beat the egg and milk together in a large cup. Add butter and cheese to the egg and milk. Stir well.
Place the lightly cooked macaroni in the prepared baking dish. Pour the egg and cheese liquid over the macaroni, sprinkle with salt and pepper and stir well. Press the mixture evenly around the baking dish.
Bake uncovered, for 30 to 40 minutes or until the top is brown.
Made this twice and I agree it is soooo easy. However, each time I have had complaints it's not 'cheesy' enough, it should be with the amount of cheese in it!!!
Next time I am going to try stirring the cheese mixture through the macaroni rather than pour it over it and hopefully this should help. I'm not giving up on it yet........ :-) - 11 Feb 2015
