About this recipe: A deliciously creamy, tomato-based pasta salad, which is perfect for summer barbecues. Macaroni is tossed with celery, sweet pickle, olives, red onion, tomato sauce and mayonnaise.


Serves: 12 

  • 340g macaroni pasta
  • 425g tomato based pasta sauce
  • 185g chopped celery
  • 250g sweet pickle, such as Branston pickle
  • 100g sliced black olives
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 350ml mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to the boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  2. Put macaroni in a serving bowl and mix in the pasta sauce, celery, pickle, olives, onion, mayonnaise and chilli powder. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
