    Serves: 4

    • 2 (450g) beef sirloin steaks
    • 60ml brown ale
    • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
    • 2 tablespoons dark brown soft sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic granules

    Prep:30min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:45min

    1. Preheat barbecue for high heat.
    2. Use a fork to poke holes all over the surface of the steaks, and place steaks in a large glass or ceramic dish. In a bowl, mix together beer, teriyaki sauce and dark brown soft sugar. Pour sauce over steaks, and let sit about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with 1/2 the seasoned salt, pepper and garlic granules; set aside for 10 minutes. Turn steaks over, sprinkle with remaining seasoned salt, pepper, and garlic granules, and continue marinating for 10 more minutes.
    3. Remove steaks from marinade. Pour marinade into a small saucepan, bring to the boil, and cook for several minutes.
    4. Lightly oil the barbecue cooking grate. Barbecue steaks for 7 minutes per side, or to desired doneness. During the last few minutes of barbecuing, baste steaks with boiled marinade to enhance the flavour and ensure juiciness.

Okay marinade. Not bad, not great! My 4 wheeling group gave this a 6 out of 10. Sorry, probably won't make it into the rotation.  -  03 Feb 2010  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

I used this the other day...changed it up a bit, but it was FABULOUS!!!! Here's what I did: 1/2 cup Red Stripe beer 3 tbsp. I actually made this from a Sandra Lee recipe on food network....just about the same recipe. I used 1/2 c. beer, 1/4 c. teryaki, 1/4 c. brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of Mccormick Montreal steak grill seasoning. Marinated a small skirt steak and a small flank for 24 hours. Grilled and the family inhaled....what a very tasty marinade. Will definately make again.  -  07 May 2007  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
