    This foolproof beer batter is great for deep frying almost any type of white fish - cod, haddock, pollock and more. You can even use it to fry meaty prawns, or to make spectacular onion rings. Use a light ale or lager for this easy beer batter.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 8 

    • 125g plain flour
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 350ml beer, or as needed

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Ready in:5min 

    1. In a small mixing bowl add flour, egg, garlic granules and black pepper. Whisk in 250ml of the beer, then add more as needed to obtain your desired texture.
