Best ever tuna sandwich filling

    This is like a luxury version of your typical tuna sandwich filler. Tuna steak combines with crab meat and hard boiled eggs, which is dressed in mayonnaise and flavoured with dill, lemon pepper and gherkin relish. Serve on toasted bread with green salad, or in a tortilla wrap.

    Serves: 8 

    • 2 eggs
    • 2 (160g) tins tuna steak
    • 1 (170g) tin crab meat
    • 120g mayonnaise
    • 1 teaspoon soured cream
    • 1 teaspoon mustard
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
    • 1/8 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
    • 2-4 tablespoons gherkin relish
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped

    1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Cover and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, cool, peel and chop finely.
    2. In a mixing bowl, combine tuna, crab meat, mayonnaise, soured cream and mustard. Stir in chopped egg, dill, lemon pepper, relish and chopped onion. Mix thoroughly.

    This is the best homeade tuna salad recipe i've ever had. It's a must try for any tuna salad fan. You can make varaitions on it to fit your taste. To save time you can omit the boiled egg without losing anything in the flavor department.     This was just WAY too much trouble for something that should be quick and easy. Although the taste was interesting, it isn't something that would make me want to try it again, or serve it to guests.     This recipe is perfect! I doubt I will use any other for tuna salad. I substituted slightly to make it low fat: using 4 hard boiled egg whites, fat-free Miracle Whip, and fat-free sour cream.
