    About this recipe: If you are looking for an easy glazed ham recipe that is just a bit different, try this gorgeous recipe. Bourbon whisky is the main component of the glaze, as well as honey, garlic and pineapple.

    Serves: 12 

    • 1 (2.25kg) boneless ham joint
    • 75ml bourbon whisky
    • 110g dark brown soft sugar
    • 1 (220g) tin pineapple in juice, pureed
    • 175g honey
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 350ml water
    • 1 (220g) tin pineapple slices, drained

    1. Score the surface of the ham, making diamond shapes about 1cm deep. Place the ham in a large, resealable bag. Add the whisky, dark brown soft sugar, pureed pineapple, honey and garlic to the bag; refrigerate at least 8 hours, turning the bag over several times while marinating.
    2. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    3. Transfer the ham and marinade to a large baking dish; pour the water into the dish. Attach the pineapple rings around the surface of the ham with skewers.
    4. Bake in preheated oven, basting occasionally with the sauce in the tin, 90 to 105 minutes.
