These relatively low-sugar muffins are a great way to start your day and are quite easy to make. Use your favourite sultana bran cereal for this recipe. You can freeze these muffins in individual bags for a grab-and-go snack for later in the day!
Good recipe but the Margarine MUST be melted before you add it or you get big cold lumps you can't get rid of and then the muffins are ruined. - 10 Oct 2011
They are very tasty. I found them a little salty and I only put in a quarter teaspoon of salt. Also, my oven runs hot, 25 - 30 mins at 180C and they were done. I would try this recipe again with other cereals, e.g. granola or fruit and fibre. Also, make sure to bake them in a muffin tin, I tried with just paper cases and they spread a lot! I also took the advice of the first reviewer and melted the butter. - 21 Jul 2015
These have gone down well. I added a piece of walnut to the top of each muffin. I note that the recipe says "Serves 8" and then tells you to grease 12 muffin cups. I made 12 but they were rather small. Perhaps this quantity of the mixture is better suited to making 8 rather than 12 muffins. - 12 Oct 2013
