    About this recipe: For the SPAM® fans out there, this recipe is an easy to make treat. Serve as is with chips and a salad, or on a bap for a spamalicious burger with mustard, tomato, onion and lettuce.

    Serves: 3 

    • 1L vegetable oil for frying
    • 1 tin SPAM®, cut into 5mm slices
    • 125g plain flour
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 250g seasoned breadcrumbs

    1. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 190 degrees C.
    2. Gently press the SPAM® slices into the flour to coat and shake off the excess flour. Dip into the beaten egg, then press into breadcrumbs. Gently toss between your hands so any breadcrumbs that haven't stuck can fall away. Place the breaded SPAM® slices onto a plate while breading the rest; do not stack.
    3. Deep fry the SPAM® a few slices at a time until hot and golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Drain on a kitchen paper-lined plate before serving.
