Mars Bar Rice Krispy Squares
- 4 Mars Bars
- 175g butter or margarine, divided
- 85g crispy rice cereal
- 250ml chocolate chips

- In the microwave, or in the top of a double boiler, melt chocolate bars and 110g of the butter, stirring occasionally until smooth. Stir in cereal until well blended. Press into a greased 28x18cm tin.
- Melt chocolate chips and remaining butter or margarine, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat, and spread over the top of rice krispy mixture. Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until firm; cut into squares.

Made this for the first time last week, and although we enjoyed it, we found the chocolate topping a bit too sickly and soft. Made it again yesterday, but this time left out the butter in the chocolate topping, just used 200g of milk chocolate, and substituted half of the butter with peanut butter, and added a handful of sultanas (which I cooked with the butter/peanut butter and mars bars) Result...a chewy, crunchy, fruity bar......yummmm - 13 Sep 2013
