    About this recipe: Kugel is a traditional Jewish dish, which is absolutely delicious! It is served at any meal and is very simple to make with only a few ingredients.

    Serves: 12 

    • 1.25kg peeled and shredded potatoes
    • 4 eggs
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 5 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 280g Cheddar cheese, grated

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 2lb loaf tin.
    2. Place potatoes in a sieve and squeeze out moisture.
    3. In a large bowl combine eggs, salt, pepper, oil and onion. Place potatoes and cheese in the bowl and mix well. Pour mixture into the prepared loaf tin.
    4. Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 1 hour. Raise heat to 230 C / Gas 8 and bake for 5 to 10 minutes until browned, serve hot.
