    • 1 egg
    • 150g plain flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
    • 170g plain chocolate chips
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 3 tablespoons milk
    • 125g icing sugar

    • 60g white chocolate, melted

    Method
    Prep:30min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:45min

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Combine butter, dark brown soft sugar, caster sugar, vanilla and egg until well combined. Stir in the flour and the bicarbonate of soda (dough will be stiff). Pat dough onto an ungreased 15cm pizza tin or on a baking tray.
    3. Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove cookie from oven and let it cool.
    4. In a saucepan heat the chocolate chips, remaining butter and milk over very low heat. Stir until chocolate is melted. Remove the chocolate mixture from the heat and stir in the icing sugar. Beat until smooth, glossy and of spreading consistency. If icing is not glossy, stir in a few drops of hot water. Spread over the top of the baked and cooled cookie.
    5. Immediately sprinkle with pecan halves, M&Ms and coconut. Press lightly into icing. Drizzle top with the melted white chocolate. Let stand until set. Remove from tin if desired, and cut into wedges.

I made this doday and it was amazing! I was amking it for a wedding shower so I made it on a cookie sheet and cut it into small triangles. I topped it with mini m&m's, chopped pecans (halves would have been too big), butterscotch chips, peanutbutter chips and the melted white chocolate. looked great and eventhough I cut the bars pretty tiny, they were really rich. A little tip: It's less messy to cut if it's chilled for a while in the fridge.  -  02 May 2004  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

This is coming from the kids, not me. They had a blast throwing all kinds of goodies on top. Peanut butter and butter scotch chips, mini marshmallows, etc. They even put it back in the oven for a minute to get it a little more melty. Coming from a LONG-TERM girl scout leader, this is a great little scout baking project. Easy badge! Thanks Robin!  -  06 Feb 2003  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

What a wonderful cookie! My kids love it and the cookie itself (even without the 'pizza' topping) tastes delicious. I just use whatever 'topping' I have available.  -  06 Mar 2000  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
