About this recipe:A wonderfully moist chocolate cake with a rich peanut butter icing. This cake makes a delicious birthday cake, especially for kids. You can skip grilling the icing at the end, if desired.
375g plain flour
2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
400g caster sugar
150g butter, melted
2 teaspoons vinegar
475ml warm water
4 tablespoons peanut butter
220g dark brown soft sugar
4 tablespoons milk
50g butter, softened

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, bicarb, salt, cocoa and caster sugar.
To the sifted ingredients, add the 150g butter, vinegar and warm water. Mix thoroughly, but do not beat. Pour cake mixture into ungreased 20x30cm cake tin.
Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove cake from oven, but keep it in the tin.
Cream together peanut butter, dark brown soft sugar, milk and 50g butter. Spread icing onto cake. Place under grill until brown and bubbly.
