1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
225g butter, softened
200g caster sugar
220g dark brown soft sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
160g porridge oats
170g plain chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease baking trays. Sieve together the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, caster sugar and dark brown soft sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually stir in the sieved ingredients. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips. Drop heaped teaspoons of the batter onto the prepared trays.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking trays for 5 minutes before removing.
