This frosting is quick and easy to make and tastes creamy and delicious. Spread on top of cakes, muffins or cupcakes. It goes particularly well on carrot cake or any other spiced cake.
Your method for the cream cheese icing is absolutely brilliant. The first batch I made was as listed apart from the cream and used whipping cream as that was all I had, and it came out perfect. The 2 batch I made I added tsp vanilla extract organic and even that came out excellent. As for the 3rd batch I used Splenda instead of icing and that was also 5/5, I placed all three in the fridge for an hour then took them tried the consistency and all were great. All I can say is that Thankyou for your top tip and was really pleased that no one could tell the difference between the sugary one and the Splenda. If I could I'd give you a rating of 10/10. Thanks again - 20 Jul 2012
This was exactly what I wanted to top a carrot cake. Didn't have cream so used a couple of tablespoons of tinned evaporated milk and it tasted really gorgeous. Will use again. - 13 May 2014
This would be five stars if adjusted as follows: 1 box confectioners sugar, 8 oz. cream cheese, 1 tsp. flavoring and 1 tablespoon milk. The consistency then is excellent. Have Cream cheese at room temp. and use an electric mixer for blending all together. Great taste and easy to make. - 24 Nov 2004 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
