Basic Cream Cheese Icing

    A super-easy icing that's quick to make. It's creamy, sweet and oh-so-delicious. Spread on top of cakes, muffins or cupcakes. It goes particularly well on carrot, spiced or red velvet cakes.

    Makes: 800 g approximately

    • 110g butter, softened
    • 225g cream cheese
    • 480g icing sugar
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    1. Beat softened butter and cream cheese until well blended.
    2. Add icing sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy.

    needed a lot more icing sugar but tastes nice  -  26 Jul 2015


    I found I needed ALOT more icing too and also found using cream instead of butter gave it a lighter and creamy texture, all in all turned out better  -  24 Sep 2015


    Nice straight forward recipe. Personally, I used a lot less icing sugar (about 150g) and it was perfect  -  10 Sep 2015
