450g lean minced beef
160g chopped onion
1/2 red pepper, chopped
3 tablespoons chilli powder
2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
1 bay leaf
1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes
1 (410g) tin kidney beans, drained
250g tomato based pasta sauce
4 tablespoons taco sauce

In a large saucepan, cook minced beef, onion and red pepper until beef is browned. Drain off excess fat.
Stir in the chilli powder, garlic, bay leaf, chopped tomatoes, pasta sauce, salsa and taco sauce. Lower heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Stir in beans just before serving to heat through.
Is a spicy tomato sauce to be served with tacos. It can be found in Mexican speciality shops or online.
