    About this recipe: A great appetiser that's perfect as finger food. German rye bread is grilled with Cheddar, spring onions and olives. If you don't like German rye bread, used sliced baguettes instead.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 15 

    • 450g grated mild Cheddar cheese
    • 125ml mayonnaise
    • 50g chopped spring onions
    • 4 tablespoons chopped black olives
    • 450g German rye bread, cut into 4cm square pieces
    • 115g butter

    Method
    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat grill.
    2. In a medium bowl, mix cheese, mayonnaise, spring onions and black olives.
    3. Spread rye bread with butter. Top with equal amounts of cheese mixture.
    4. Arrange bread slices in a single layer on a large baking tray. Grill for 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
