    About this recipe: Keep this mixture in salt shakers to serve at the table instead of salt. Excellent for a salt-free diet!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 30 

    • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1 dessertspoon dried basil
    • 1 dessertspoon ground savory
    • 1 dessertspoon onion powder
    • 1 dessertspoon dried sage
    • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
    • 1 dessertspoon ground mace or allspice
    • 1 dessertspoon dried thyme
    • 1 dessertspoon dried parsley
    • 1 dessertspoon dried marjoram
    • 1 dessertspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon paprika

    Method

    1. Crush or grind all the ingredients together using a coffee or spice grinder, or a mortar and pestle. Let stand at least overnight before using. Keep this mixture in an airtight container.

    this was ok. Nothing special in my book, so maybe others would want to halve the recipe the first time they make it so as to not have a lot of spices go to waste if you don't really enjoy it. - 15 Sep 2008
