Beer marinated prawns

    After soaking in a tangy, spicy beer marinade these oven-grilled prawn skewers could be a delectable starter OR main.

    Serves: 6 

    • 910g large prawns, peeled and deveined with tails attached
    • 235ml beer
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1/8 teaspoon hot sauce

    1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir well to coat the prawns. Place in a large shallow dish and refrigerate. Let marinate for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
    2. Heat oven grill. Drain prawns. Thread prawns onto six 14-inch skewers, through neck and tail, so that prawns will lie flat. Place skewers on a lightly greased grate of an oven grill pan.
    3. Grill 5 inches from heat for 3 minutes. Turn skewers and grill for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, or until prawns turn pink. Serve warm with cold beer.

    HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR A BEER MARINADED SHRIMP RECIPE.This one is easy quick and tastes great.Buy already peeled and deveined shrimp if your time is lacking,makes it easier then doing it yourself.Will pass thing one on to my son who loves grilling with beer and loves shrimp  -  15 Jul 2001  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
