A delicious buttery cake that's a easy to throw together. It's moist, tender and flavoured with vanilla extract. Decorate with your favourite icing.
I re-calculated all ingredients to 3 eggs base. Followed the recipie and made a cake. Had to use my largest tin for baking it as it wud not fit into any smaller ones. so I put all muxture into 1 large deap tin and baked in oven 180C for 55 mins!!! Only then it looked baked through and became golden on top. I let it cool down over night and then cut in into 3 layers. If you are doing it with 4 eggs this cake will be realy huge!!! I added some freshly picked blackberries to this recipe, layered it together with blackcurrant jam and topped it with vanilla lemon icing. OMGosh - best cake ever. Sponge is ridiculously delicious! - 17 Aug 2012
