Warm spiced apple cider

    This drink will warm the cockles of your heart. Apple cider, orange juice, grapefruit juice, cloves and cinnamon are slowly heated together. The perfect drink for the cold autumn/winter days.

    Makes: 6 .5 litres

    • 8 whole cloves or to taste
    • 3.75 litres apple cider
    • 1.75 litres orange juice
    • 1 litre grapefruit juice
    • 6 cinnamon sticks

    1. Place the cloves into a tea ball and place into a slow cooker. Pour the apple cider, orange juice and grapefruit juice into the slow cooker and drop in the cinnamon sticks. Stir once or twice. Set the cooker to High, cover and cook until the mixture is hot; then keep warm on Low setting. Serve in mugs.

    I have never added citrus to my homemade apple juice, always mixed with raspberry, cranberry, etc. but this was delicious, thanks Swchef.
