    About this recipe: This is a hearty pasta bake that everyone will love. Pasta is baked with pork, beef and kidney beans in a tomato sauce. Enjoy with garlic bread and/or salad.

    Makes: 2 20x30cm dishes

    • 450g lean minced beef
    • 450g minced pork
    • 50g butter
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 150g chopped green pepper
    • 125g chopped celery
    • 2 (400g) tins whole plum peeled tomatoes, with liquid
    • 1 (410g) tin kidney beans
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 450g macaroni
    • 40g grated Parmesan cheese

    1. Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling water until done. Drain.
    2. In a large frying pan, saute onion, celery and green pepper in butter until softened. Add minced beef and pork and cook until meat is done. Drain well.
    3. Combine with tinned tomatoes, kidney beans, salt and pasta. Spread into two 20x30cm baking dishes. Sprinkle the tops with Parmesan cheese.
    4. Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 30 to 35 minutes.
