Place pears, ginger, vanilla extract and sugar in a small microwave safe bowl. Cover and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Uncover and continue to microwave in 1 minute intervals, stirring occasionally, until the mixture attains a thick, spreadable consistency.
Good recipe. I would use the term "mashing occasionally" rather than stirring as stirring wasn't getting me anywhere. But it worked well and really was easy to make! Will be making this again, tasty and warming - 01 Apr 2014
