    About this recipe: For this beautiful pâté, smoked mackerel is blended with luscious cream cheese, butter and tart lemon to balance and brighten the creamy, rich flavours. Spread this delicious mixture on toast as a lovely starter for either a small family meal or dinner party, or enjoy as a snack any time.

    Serves: 12 

    • 450g smoked mackerel
    • 110g cream cheese
    • 110g softened butter
    • 1 lemon, juiced

    1. Remove any skin and bones from the mackerel, and place into the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until no large pieces remain. Add the cream cheese, butter and lemon juice; process until smooth. Place into a small serving bowl, and refrigerate until firmed, about 2 hours.
