Prep:25min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:45min

  1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Lightly grease a 12 cup muffin tin, or line with paper cases.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, plain chocolate, baking powder, bicarb and salt.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, cream together margarine and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time then stir in the orange zest, orange juice and buttermilk. Pour into the flour mixture, and mix just until evenly moist. Spoon mixture into prepared muffin tin.
  4. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a skewer inserted into the centre of a muffin comes out clean. Let muffins cool in the tin on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before removing from the tin.

Loved these. Nice and moist and a great combination of chocolate and tangy orange. - 28 May 2012

I love this recipe but I tweaked it a little by using Terrys Chocolate Orange instead of the plain chocolate - 23 Mar 2016
