About this recipe:Some people call this a plum cake, some call it a plum tart. I'm not sure if this is a cake or a tart but it is simple and delicious! Serve with coffee or as a dessert with a spoonful of plain yogurt or vanilla ice cream. I'm sure it would work just as well with apples or pears.

Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Lightly grease a 25cm tart dish.
Whisk together the wholemeal flour, plain flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cream together the butter and 150g of caster sugar in a large bowl; mix in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir the flour mixture into the wet ingredients in two additions, mixing gently between each addition until the mixture is just combined. Pour the mix into the prepared dish, and arrange the sliced plums in a circle on the top. Sprinkle the fruit with 1 tablespoon sugar and dust with cinnamon.
Bake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean, 50 to 55 minutes.
