Scallops in White Wine Sauce

About this recipe: White wine, butter, lemon juice and garlic make a delicious sauce for scallops.


Serves: 4 

  • 120ml chicken stock
  • 60ml white wine
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon minced shallot
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 50g butter
  • 450g sea scallops
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. In a frying pan over medium heat, mix the chicken stock, wine, lemon juice, minced shallots and garlic. Cook and stir until most of the liquid has been reduced. Stir in the butter until melted.
  2. Brush the scallops with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Arrange on a baking tray.
  3. Cook the scallops under the grill for about 2 minutes on each side. Serve with the wine sauce.
