Shiitake mushroom sauce

    25 min

A simple side dish of shiitake mushrooms, garlic and herbs in a light stock-based sauce. Serve over pork or steak, or simply with plain rice. Also makes a nice toping for a jacket potato.

I changed this recipe to make it more asian-like. Omitted the Italian seasoning, kept the garlic, and added ground ginger and soy sauce to taste. Used only about 1/4 cup or so broth, and added some corn starch to thicken a little. Served over soba noodles.  -  05 Aug 2007  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

This was delicious! It was my first time trying shiitake mushrooms, and now I'm certainly hooked.  -  27 Jan 2009  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

A pretty good recipe. It's a nice, light sidedish with a mild flavor. Goes well with fish.  -  21 Aug 2006  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
