About this recipe:I had some steaks in the fridge but needed to feed 8 people so I decided to stretch the portions by adding onions and pasta sauce. Because you're using sirloin, it doesn't need to cook as long to tenderise. I served it with garlic mashed potatoes and it turned out to be delicious.
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
3 or 4 sirloin steaks, sliced into strips
450g passata or tomato based pasta sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
120ml red wine

Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium high heat. Add the onions and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add the steak strips, turning so that all sides get browned, about 10 minutes.
Add the passata, garlic and red wine. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
