About this recipe: Make this snack by roasting fresh pumpkin seeds in olive oil or butter. Worcestershire sauce adds a distinctive flavour.

Serves: 8 

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 150g (5 oz) raw whole pumpkin seeds

Method
Prep:10min  ›  Cook:1hr  ›  Ready in:1hr10min 

  1. Preheat oven to 140 C / Gas mark 1.
  2. Combine the olive oil, salt, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce and pumpkin seeds. Mix thoroughly and place in shallow baking dish.
  3. Bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Made it healthier. I make this recipe myself but substitute the butter with olive oil which is healthier and doesn't burn. Very yummy! - 24 Jul 2008

Altered ingredient amounts. I roast pumpkin seeds on a regular basis, and I always use this recipe now that I have found it. I must warn you: the more spice mixture you use, the better they are! The perfect balance for me is actually quadruple the mixture and still use the same amount of seeds. Thanks for the recipe! - 24 Jul 2008

Used different ingredients. Instead of Worcestershire sauce, I used Soy sauce. Turned out just as delicious and tasted more like popcorn. - 30 Nov 2010
