    About this recipe: This pilaf couldn't be easier, and is a great side to barbecued meats. Add kidney or pinto beans for a Mexican-inspired dish.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 200g (7 oz) uncooked white rice
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 450ml (16 fl oz) water
    • 1 (270g) jar salsa

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring the water to the boil and then reduce the temperature to simmer. Simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender. Fluff the rice when finished.

    Tip:

    For extra flavour, use vegetable stock instead of water.
